Marketing & SEO Blogs - Blog Top Sites

You’ll notice that I’ve added some nifty little buttons at the end of each post that allow you to bookmark my posts at popular social bookmarking sites. These are from a wordpress plugin called Sociable which makes it incredibly easy. I had been seeing references out there in the wordpress world about how to modify the code to add a button or two. I wanted to do this eventually, but didn’t have the time to before I stumbled across Sociable. This was exactly what I wanted.

All I had to do was download the free plugin, unzip it, and then upload it to my wordpress directory. From there, I just had to activate the plugin and then click the Sociable tab on the Options page of my wordpress control panel to configure it.
The configuration is incredibly easy, too. You simply check the box next to the buttons you would like to appear and then rearrange them by dragging and dropping. At the bottom of the screen you then check where on your site you would like the buttons to appear, i.e. front page, archive pages, all pages, etc.
One suggestion, though: there are a ton of different buttons available so that you could potentially have a couple dozen or more at the end of each post. Don’t. Choose the top few most popular so as not to clutter your posts. You’ll have to deselect the ones you don’t want because they’re all checked by default.
