Google Adwords Free eCourse from Perry Marshall
13 Comments Published October 20th, 2006 in internet marketing, moneyThose of you who are into internet marketing have probably heard of Perry Marshall before. He’s one of the big gurus of the whole business. I’ve been checking out some of his stuff as well as others because I’m honestly curious about how these guys are making money out there on the internet.
I’ve read so many stories about people making thousands of dollars a month or more just from Adsense or Adwords or Affiliate Marketing. There are, of course, other advertising systems people are making money from, but you get the picture.
There are also a lot of scam artists taking your money and giving you very little in return. I don’t know what the ratio is, but I’d be willing to be many of those people selling ebooks and courses have gotten their money just from selling ebooks and courses.
With that said, I signed up for Perry Marshall’s free eCourse on using Google Adwords (aff) and was impressed by the content. He actually gave me enough useful information that I was able to understand the basics of how you can make money with it.
That’s not to say that everyone’s going to read his email course and make a million bucks from it. I think the rule still applies that most people won’t even bother getting the knowledge and that of those who do, most won’t ever use it. Out of the remainder, once again, most will quit after a short attempt that ends in failure. That’s just the way things go. Most people quit when things get difficult or confusing.
Back to the point of this post: if you’re at all interested in internet marketing or making money on the internet, check out Perry Marshall’s free eCourse. Yes, he does try to sell you on some of his other products, but the free information is actually pretty good. I’m considering buying his Google Adwords eBook and seeing if I can make any use of it. If I do, I’ll definitely review it here.

I’ve never yet been able to convince myself to buy an e-book. Why? I don’t know. I’ve been in sales my whole life, so the usual sales pitch or sales page doesn’t do anything for me. Maybe that’s it. I tend to find 90% of what I need for free online, and I can wing the rest. Would it be easier if I ponied up a few bucks for a guru’s book? Quite possibly. I just can’t talk myself into it.
I don’t think I’ve ever bought one either, but I have bought lots of books from bookstores on different topics I was interested in learning.
I’ll bet most of that information in the e-books IS available online, but one thing I’ve also thought about was all the time it takes to dig it all up. I guess it’s the trade off between the time spent finding the info and then learning how to use it through trial and error against the price of an e-book. It’s still a gamble, though: you’re betting that that e-book won’t suck.
There’s that dang time factor again. If you could be sure the ebook had the info you needed, then it is a huge time saver. But it’s always a big question mark, isn’t it?
Yep. Time is the most precious commodity.
Now, I do have to say that I’ve heard only good things about Perry Marshall, but mixed to bad about all the other gurus I’ve looked into. I usually do my research before spending any kind of money and most times I decide not to spend it at all.
Well here’s how I see it. It’s free and if I can get one good thing from it then thats well worth my time.
Hi Briana. I agree as long as I don’t have to spend too much time getting that one good thing out of it. BTW, I’m still getting emails from Perry Marshall that are well written, interesting, and also contain pearls of wisdom far beyond just using AdWords. He’s truly a business and marketing guru in my book… Thanks for stopping by and good luck with your ventures!
The only eBook I bought happens to be SEOBook. It didn’t include any “magical” seo tactics, but I was fairly happy with it.
Hi Komik. I’ve heard a lot of good things about SEOBook. I’ve never bought it, but I’ve checked out the blog from time to time and gotten some useful information. I’m much more likely to buy something when I read good, honest reviews. Thanks for commenting!
I’ve been subscribed to Perry Marshall’s newsletter for a while now and have found a lot of the content to be both informative and useful.
Hello, again…
I was happy to find this topic. I’ve been getting the solicitation email for the “Google Adwords Free.” The flamboyant style of the letters and frequent take-away close, etc., is the hard sell style which always puts up red flags for a scam, for me. Still I have not opted out while not going ahead and moving on it either.
Some indication that there is a viable system behind the “too good to be true” title and bait stories is a plus for taking it seriously.
I will have to check back and see if I’m being offered a free newsletter etc., or an all or nothing *join* (and pay) deal.
I would certainly like a more detailed follow up to this topic, whatever stage you are in with it. Thank you for tackling this one. Regards,
Essie
Hi again, Essie! I’ve been getting Perry Marshall’s email newsletter for a long time now and I always get something of value without having to pay a dime. I’ve never really noticed a hard sell approach, but it may be that I overlook it because of all the great information.
What impresses me most is Perry’s style of making a point by telling a story. Out of all the other internet marketers I’ve read, he has the most mature and eloquent, yet natural style. His personality and unique style comes through very easily in a trustworthy and likable way. If I were to spend any money on that type of product, I have to say it would go to Perry first.
When I do go further with either his materials or internet marketing, I’ll definitely incorporate what I’m attempting and what I learn into some new posts here. Thanks for your comment, Essie. You’re always welcome.
