Hi Syed,
I agree that most webmasters won't follow these tips, but they're still great tips for writing. I know there's a lot of discussion out there about good writing versus web writing, but I tend to think that good writing is just good writing, wherever you find it.

I've come across those sites, too, and I think there will always be a lot of noise out there interfering with our signal. Unfortunately, that goes with the territory. The search engines are getting better at filtering out garbage sites, but it's a slow process. Are they really that concerned about it because they're making money regardless, or do they really care about providing the very best service to their users? Time will tell.

P.S. Just as an aside: You're the second person who has called me Roy (with an 'O') instead of Ray (with an 'A') in the last day. Don't worry: I'm not offended. This happens to me quite a bit and it's kind of funny. I might have to write a post about this phenomenon. Thanks for commenting!

That's a good idea, Roy, but most webmasters wont follow it.
These days everybody is obsessed with creating "content". Everyone knows SEs cant judge the quality of text, only quantity. So they don't care about the quality that much. Sometimes I end up on sites which seem like a joke. Surrounded by uncountable adsense, they almost tell you to brush your teeth in the morning, and use toilet paper after you pass. With such rare and surprising gems of wisdom, they manage to grab high enough ranking to grab unsuspecting visitors like me. As for quality links, which can only be attracted through good content, they probably don't have such long term plans anyway.
