I was reading The power of comments over at Blogging Blog and decided to run a little experiment. It’s not much of one, really, but I would like to see how many lurkers out there (and regular readers, of course) will leave a comment on this post. If you’re new to this blog, feel free to introduce yourself. I definitely check out the blogs of people who stop by and generally promote articles on their blogs that I find interesting. So, leave a comment and let us know you’re alive!

Everybody is always quiet until somebody speaks up, so I’ll try to get the ball rolling.
Hello. My name is Mike. And I’m a lurker.
Can I sit down now?
I am still alive.
Hi Mike. It’s nice to meet you. Good luck with the stories. I have a bunch of them sitting around in various stages of completion, including two novels at the 3 or 4 chapter mark. I don’t want to embarrass myself by saying how long it’s been since I’ve worked on them, but I have gotten a few rejection slips this year…
P.S. You may sit down now.
Hey Chris. I’m glad to hear it. I was getting worried. We may be the only three alive today…
I’m around, of course, Just a little bit slow. I had some sort of Ebola or something Monday, and I was still getting over it yesterday. Besides being exhausted, I think I’m almost human again.
Hi – I found your blog through the ProBlogger Writing Project. I don’t comment much, but I subscribe through Bloglines and try to keep up.
Leroy, you’re having a hell of a time the last few weeks, aren’t you? I’m fighting a nasty cold myself. Hang in there, man and thanks for checking in.
Hi Northern Girl. I remember checking out your blog before, too. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for subscribing. I hope you and everyone else gets something useful from what I post here. I know I get so much good information from all of your blogs that it’s really enriched my life.
You know what you need Ray? Comment subscription. I didn’t know that there were any followup comments here until I checked myself. I leave a lot of comments and I have the memory of a goldfish, so I usually don’t remember to check, unless of course I get that all important email to remind me.
Hello, I’ll delurk since you asked
I’m with Leroy – I’m less inclined to comment on a blog unless I see a little ‘Subscribe to comments’ checkbox! Memory of a fish indeed.
Thanks, Yvonne. That’s a plugin I’ve been meaning to add to this blog, but never got around to. I’ve just installed it and it seems to work, so I hope it brings you back!
Wooha! Much better.
Thanks, Leroy. I hope to hear from you more often now!
i try to read regularly via rss, but i’ve fallen behind over the last week or so. too many projects and not enough time.
Hi Gary. Good to hear from you. I know what you mean about the projects and time. I’ve been up to my ears in this and that. Time is one of the top items on my wishlist.
I checked out your blog again recently and I’m impressed. You have the good posts as expected, but it looks like you’ve integrated some more advertising. How’s that working out so far?
i tend to leave the ad revenue watching to the IT partner. we compare at month end and then try to decide if we should move things around. so far, adsense is king.
It looks good. I’m still experimenting with what works best. I don’t think my niche on this site is very well focused, though. It’s more of a personal blog than a money-making venture, though.
Gary – Adsense is definately king on a car-themed blog. Those ads tend to pay fairly well.
The site looks great ! Thanks for all your help

Hello – I’m a late subscriber but just came across this post in the archives.
Keep up the great work!
Hi,
My name is Nick Grimshawe. I don’t think I qualify as a lurker. I just discovered your blog today. I write my own blog. I am also a student of self-help and I read a lot of blogs about blogging, hence my discovery here.
I have subscribed and look forward to dancing through your archives.
Nick
