WordPress Discussion Forum Software

For users of WordPress who are interested in setting up a discussion forum to go along with their blog, check out bbPress. It looks pretty clean and efficient as it’s currently being used for the WordPress support forums.

The best part is that the software is open source. If you’re not familiar with the concept, open source software is generally free. The source code is openly available for users to modify. Although there can be problems with free software, many are actively maintained and supported through vast networks of developers and users all over the world. Linux is a great example.

I don’t have any use for a discussion forum at this point, but you might want to check it out if you’re looking for something like this.
