I guess there are no easy answers. I feel it depends on your priorities. How important is your blog for you? If it is just a hobby than you can or cannot post as you wish. On the other hand if it is a part of serious income generating activity on which your living may depend, than you should cancel or put off even pressing social obligations just to stay regular.
