Liz from Learning Nerd has finally gotten her own domain at LearningNerd.com, but she’s still working on getting it set up. During this time, though, true to her nature as a learning nerd, she’s learning all about how to install and customize wordpress. She’s posted a series of articles on her old blog about her search for a hosting company, downloading and installing wordpress, finding and installing a custom theme, and how to modify the CSS, PHP, and XHTML in a wordpress template to get it to work and look just the way you want it to.

This is a great series of articles because you get the perspective of a pretty sharp person who’s learning much of this for the first time. This is as opposed to someone who’s a guru in the subject and may miss some points that a newby will need to know. I like the idea of sharing what you learn as you learn it because I find it uniquely helpful in an online world that seems to be packed full of expert gurus and absolute newbies with few in between.
