[...] I don’t know about you, but I’ve been feeling pretty sluggish since the holidays. It’s seems like this time of year is always a period of lowered productivity. To counter this malaise (great word, huh?), I’ve been looking for tips to increase my level of energy and concentration. There are a lot of great resources out there, but one that I’ve recently come across thanks to ProBlogger’s last Group Writing Project is The Ririan Project. [...]

That's very true, Ken. Out of all the bookmarks/favorites in your browser, how many have you ever gone back to check out? Or, how many books on your bookshelves have you read? I have a stack of magazines on my nightstand that I intended to read at one time or another. I think it's time to start throwing stuff out. Thanks for the comment!

Hey Hart. That's a great tip. I've noticed that if I don't get started on my blog post first thing in the morning, I get totally sidetracked by everything else. It gets way too hard to focus on what I wanted to write about with all those other distractions. Sometimes, though, if I need an idea to write about, I'll browse around for a little bit to get some ideas and maybe find something to link to.

I think you did good by recognizing #4 .. that's always the hardest .. identifying what the difference is between "research" and, just having some fun reading some of the great blogs out there! It's easy to get lost in the links, and also off tangent. One of the best tips I read somewhere (can't remember where though) when you are ready to blog .. do it in the morning, before you check your email and bloglines .. and it's true - before you get lost catching up on the posts and email comments etc. Because, as we all know - by the time you reach the bottom of the list - it has already refreshed at the top of the list, and there's more links to waste time reading!
