Finally Accepted Into Text Link Ads Thanks To Patrick Gavin
Published February 25th, 2007 in Text Link Ads, advertising, customer serviceSome of you already know that I’ve been trying to get accepted into Text Link Ads (aff) publisher program for several months now. I’m happy to say that FreshBlogger has finally been accepted and is now selling text links ads. Any ads that are purchased through TLA will appear in the right hand sidebar in the Sponsors section, which will remain above the fold.
I’m not sure exactly what happened before, but my requests to be admitted to the publisher program were automatically rejected each time. Something about my site was probably not looking right to whatever algorithm they use to filter sites. My email inquiries to TLA were never replied to, either. Regardless, I posted about this before and Adnan from Blogtrepreneur suggested I contact Patrick Gavin (co-founder of the TLA) directly.
I dragged my feet a little on this suggestion at first because my site was less than six months old and I didn’t think the traffic levels were all that impressive. I figured these were some of the big reasons why it was being rejected. I was concerned, though, that TLA’s customer service hadn’t responded in any way. This and the fact that FreshBlogger.com received Page Rank of 5 in the latest Google update caused me to go for it. If Google likes me, why wouldn’t TLA?
Friday I sent an email to Patrick Gavin and within 10 minutes he had not only responded but directed a colleague (thanks, Drew!) to admit me to the program and he did so. I was amazed by how quickly this all happened. I’ve heard similar stories from other people who’ve had problems with TLA and then contacted Patrick. I have to say that this is a great way to do business.
It’s unfortunate that the automated part of the publisher admission process is problematic, but I imagine this is one of the growing pains of a rapidly expanding company. Thanks again to Patrick and Drew for responding so quickly and making things right.

Like you I have been waiting some time for my site to be accepted. It’s strange how Google will accept you in minutes for Adsense yet it is hard to get into this program. My site has traffic and a PR of 3, so it’s hardly a barren wasteland.
Hello
I’m glad I came across this, I was feeling like I was missing the boat, because my sites have been turned down as well. What’s the best way to get a hold of Patrick? Via the contact form at TLA.. or another route?
Hope to hear back.
Thanks!

How’d you get your site accepted by them?
Hey guys. I think they are so overwhelmed with all the applicants, that they just don’t have the time to examine each one. Most seem to be declined by automated processes. As far as contacting Patrick, I used his direct email address. I think it’s pgavin@text-link-ads.com. Good luck!
