Simple Posts and Search Engine Visitors

ProBlogger Darren posted a few days ago about How Simple Posts Can Find Your Blog Readers. This article brought up a point that I’ve thought about from time to time and was one of the reasons why I started the 5 Minute How To series on FreshBlogger: Most visitors come looking for answers to simple questions.

With so much information available out on the web, I often find it hard to get just a simple answer. The answers are almost always there somewhere, but many times they’re buried in an overly wordy or complex document that seems like it was written by a team of rabid PHD’s. Scary thought, huh?

Most of the questions I get from visitors to this blog are pretty basic ones about blogging or monetizing a blog. Generally, I can give a short, simple answer that will point them in the right direction for experimenting or further research. Often, all they need is just a little nudge to get them going.

I occasionally explore some relatively complex issues on FreshBlogger, but mostly stick to the basics. I at least attempt to break down those complicated questions into simple, more digestible pieces. Sometimes, I’ll find myself revisiting a topic that I’ve already covered in a post. When this happens I try to address the issue from a different angle or provide new information that adds to the information already given.

This is why you may see articles here that look familiar. A lot of important blogging topics are worth reviewing on a regular basis. It’s helpful for me to get a reminder of the basics, too. So, don’t be disappointed if you see one more article on optimizing AdSense or frequency of posting. Take a few minutes and read through it and see if you can pick up something new or remember a great point that helps you today.
