FreshBlogger has reached another milestone this week in breaking the 1000 subscriber mark for FeedBurner subscribers. I’ve mentioned the growth of this number several times already, but it’s never had another great bump like it did in February when FeedBurner began correctly counting Google Reader subscriptions (or Google began correctly reporting them). Still, the overall number of RSS subscribers has grown slowly, but steadily since then. A couple of days ago I noticed it hit 1012 and then today it’s sitting at 1018.

FeedBurner Subscribers Break 1000

There is always an element of doubt in the number of subscribers reported and it does go up and down on a daily basis. This is due to the nature of how FeedBurner gets notified only when feeds are accessed. There may also be some numbers that are over- or under-reported. I had more concern about this when I first saw the large jump in subscriber numbers, but since then I’ve become more comfortable with the numbers.

Getting new subscribers takes a combination of lots of hard work and also recognizing and taking advantage of opportunities as they arise. If you want to see your numbers grow quickly, write valuable content at least 3-5 times a week, network like crazy with other bloggers, and get involved in blog carnivals. These are a few of the things that have helped me over the last few months and I’m sure you can get some great results from doing the same.

Congratulations on reaching this milestone! I know that you will hit many more in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead.

Thanks, Steve. I have to sit down and think about what goals I should be setting for this blog in the next 3 months or 6 months. Having those goals really helps!

Mine goes up and down a little but should hit this mark in a week or so depending on whether I pump out some shorter posts or not ;)

I have a lot of backlog in things to do so I really need to knuckle down and stop commenting :(

I’ve noticed the same thing, Andy. I have a serious problem with too many things to do, also. I’m trying to get a handle on that now, but it’s tough. Good luck and thanks for your comment!
