Pursue the Passion US Tour
Published May 22nd, 2007 in blogs, employment, jobs, life, passion, reviewsNo, this post doesn’t have anything to do with marital aids! I was contacted recently by James from Pursue the Passion regarding a tour they are doing across the USA this year. I hadn’t heard of them before, so after James’ brief email introduction, I decided to check out their site and see what they’re all about.
Pursue the Passion is a project started by three recent college graduates who realized that they didn’t know anything about the business world. That is, they had learned plenty in college, but hadn’t gotten much real world experience. They wanted to find careers that they could really get into, that they could put their passions into.
This is, of course, a common interest amongst not just college graduates, but also many people already out in the business world. The problem lies in the fact that so many are unsatisfied with their careers and are not feeling this passion in their professional lives. So, what’s the secret?
This is what Pursue the Passion is all about. James, Brett, and Noah toured the country last year and interviewed professionals about their careers in the hopes of finding the answers. On their first tour, they interviewed 75 people who were passionate about their jobs and posted the interviews to their website so that others could benefit.
They are now touring again and posting the interviews to their web page once again. The interviews provide some fascinating insights into what makes them passionate in their careers. If you’re interested in some ideas about how to find a career you love or how to start feeling passion for the one you have now, check out their website.

I’ve interviewed a couple college new hires and I’m also so surprised how little they know about what they’ve been studying for 4 years. I wish these guys luck finding their place in the business world.
Hi Nathan. I’ve had similar thoughts, too. We go through many years of education in which we are drilled in all sorts of knowledge and information. The only problem is that we aren’t taught to actually DO much at all.
Look at it this way: American Indians made little bows and arrows for their young sons and taught them to track animals in the woods. This is what the boys did for play. So, what do we teach our children today? Do we give them little checkbooks to play with? Our children spend all of their time learning how to be children, not adults. Maybe that’s why it takes young people in the western world so long to grow up… Thanks for your comment!
Thanks a lot for the post! I’m a loyal freshblogger follower now. Looking forward to new ways that we can expnad our relationship. Thanks again Ray. We really appreciate it!
Hi James. It’s my pleasure. What you’re doing is really a great idea. I wish more people would consider what they’re passionate about before voluntarily becoming a wage slave in some boring, dead-end job. Let me know if you have any ideas you’d like to share. Thanks and good luck!
