If I have a mission in life, it is to understand why I am here and to understand why
other people don't ask themselves the questions that will bring them peace and
self esteem. Anxiety over ones mission in life destroys any chance that you will
find out what it is. And it destroys any peace you might have. Peace, within which you might discover who you are and why you are here, is the necessary and crucial
state of mind for the discovery of your mission in life. Without it, you have low self esteem and chaos. Not only that, you will only produce misunderstanding,
misconception and error prone thinking. In my opinion, The one and only discovery
that is worth while making, is to find out who you are. If you continue to imagine that you are the human you see in the mirror, You will continue in the confusion you have always been steeped in. Once you have discovered who you are within that human image, your life will truly begin, but you have to ask the question and you will never ask it as long as you think of yourself as being too important. Egotism is the destroyer of happiness. Quit being so self important and relax. That's the only way you will
find the happiness you have always longed for. Sincerely, Doug Rosbury

Interesting task, writing a personal mission statement, I've always found that even though my mission statements progress over time, the same general groundrules abound! I might tag along with this meme and write about mine on We the Change :)

That's interesting. We all have the capability to be good communicators, but few of us seem to make that a priority. It seems like life is way too busy for us to slow down and really listen. I wrote a post a while back about empathic listening and I think this is what you're talking about.

I would like to hear comments on a personal mission statement that I came across recently.
"I wish to use my communication and listening abilities to counsel and guide people to reach their potential."
